Vote for Hilda, she's got an agenda
MEET: HILDA JURADO
BIO
Hilda Jurado is a third year majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Law, Politics and Policy, also minoring in Communication Studies. She currently serves as a Senator-at-Large for the Associated Students’ Incorporated (ASI), where she is responsible for writing legislation, approving the actions of subsidiary boards, and authorizing the appropriation of funds. She is also a Senate representative in ASI’s Lobby Corps, where she advocates for higher education in the local, state and national level of government.
Hilda is passionate about solving many issues currently affecting students. She is assisting the battle against the CSU Board of Trustees’ proposed tuition increase and will be traveling to Sacramento on March 13th to meet with legislatives and advocate on behalf of the students. With 1 out 10 students being homeless in the CSU system and 1 out of 4 being food insecure, Hilda continues to advocate against the tuition increase that will worsen things for struggling students. Hilda believes that every student on campus deserves to have their voice heard, therefore, she assisted Lobby Corps and New Voter’s Project on registering more than 900 hundred students on campus to vote during last year’s Presidential Election. Hilda has also worked with the Women’s and Gender Equity Center to help spread awareness of the resources they provide to the students.
